Update: 13 May 2020

READY TO WELCOME YOU AGAIN AT VIA AMSTERDAM

After a few weeks of being closed – while we were working very hard on getting Via to be the safest place to stay – we are ready to welcome you again as of Tuesday 19 May 2020. We did have to make a few adjustments in our ‘multi-functional playground’. Please know that we did so to guarantee both your safety as well as the safety of our team.

All adjustments made and services offered are compliant with the local ordinances and the guidelines of the National Institute for Health & Environment (RIVM). The adjustments made are however subject to change, based on the development of these guidelines in the future.

HYGIENE

When entering the hostel, you will pass through our hygiene station. We ask all our guests to disinfect their hands before entering the hostel. Additionally, we will measure your temperature. Unfortunately, we cannot allow you to enter the hotel when you are running a fever or any other corona related symptoms. You will find hygiene stations with antibacterial gel in all our public areas as well.

We accept cash payments, however to ensure minimum contact between yourself and our staff members, card payments are preferred.

ROOMS

To ensure the safety and to comply with the 1,5-meter guideline, we have limited the number of people in a dorm to a maximum of four persons. If you have booked a bed in a dorm but you wish to have a private room, you can upgrade to a twin or suite, based on the applicable rates and subject to availability.

All rooms receive daily stay-over cleaning and are disinfected after each stay. In case you are inside your room when our room attendants come by to provide this service, we kindly ask you to step outside so they can safely do their job. You may choose to waive the stay-over cleaning, in case you do not wish to step outside for this.

PUBLIC AREAS & FACILITIES

Our restaurant and most of our public areas are open to our in-house guests. We have taken measures to guarantee your safety here as well, for example a maximum number of people allowed in our cinema room and game area. You can make use of our bike rental service and our terrace is open as well. The guest pantry is temporarily not accessible due to hygiene and health reasons.

In all areas you will find walking directions, some areas might be a “one way” route.

DUDE, STAY HEALTHY

Restaurant The Dude is open for in-house guests. Just flash your key-card to let us know you are staying with us. We serve an adjusted menu. You may choose to consume your meal in the restaurant or to take it to your room.

Please know that we can provide seating for a maximum of 30 guests. We disinfect each table after the stay. Therefore, the waiting time might be a bit longer than usual.

Not staying with us or already checked out? Then we are only able to provide you with a to-go bag.

EVENTS & OUR COMMUNITY

Via Amsterdam wouldn’t be Via Amsterdam without our amazing community, so we have come up with some pretty cool ‘corona proof’ events, such as our social distancing bingo (always a winner!) and a no-mic karaoke night. Who is up for this?! The Anti-Social Club has never been this popular!

To ensure the 1,5-meter rule there will be less seats available than usual. Make sure you get there on time or join the next social distancing sesh!

COVID-19 AND YOUR BOOKING WITH VIA

We have resumed our operations again and have a special semi-flexible rate in place, which gives you the option to cancel your booking up to 14 days prior to your stay.

Questions about current bookings which do not have the semi-flex rate? Please send an e-mail to reservations.amsterdam@viahostels.com, referring to your booking number. We will get in touch with you as soon as possible.
